A picture speaks a thousand words, so you better have a good camera!

I cannot stress how important it is to invest in a good camera, and to use it to take the best possible pictures of your client’s home.  All it takes is one bad photograph of a house to be completely turned off by it, and there are no second chances.  I am not sure which is worse, a horribly blurry, poor quality photograph, or an out of date photo showing the house in springtime while it’s mid November.

You don’t need an overly expensive camera, any digital camera around $100 would work perfectly fine as long as you understand a bit about photography and lighting.  For example, with interior photos, try not to take the picture if you have a lot of direct sunlight shining in the room. Yes, sunlight is great for the picture, but too much can just be, well, too much. Use the widest angle possible on the camera, and start shooting away!

Exterior photos should be taken when sunlight is striking the front of the house (either late afternoon or early morning.)  Double check to make sure interior lights are turned on. Again, if your camera offers a wide angle, adjust to that and start snapping away!

With all those fantastic holiday electronic deals coming your way this holiday season, it might be the perfect time to invest in a digital camera!  And what is also a great idea, and one more reason to invest, is the option to record short videos right from your digital camera!  Great idea for a mini interior video clip to post on your social media sites!
