Apple Releases Multiple Updates for Security Vulnerabilities

February 27, 2014  |  by Garry

Apple Releases Security UpdatesIf you have ever attended one of the security presentations I have given – you know that the most important word in them is UPDATE.  Updating your applications, operating systems, browsers as well as security products are one of the most critical pieces of your defense against malware, hackers, system unavailability and identity theft which leads to a plethora of other issues.

Another item you will remember from the my security presentations is to sign up and read alerts from US-Cert (United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team).  US-Cert is a division of the Department of Homeland Security.  If you haven’t done this – please do all of us a favor and sign-up today.  If you have already signed up – you would have gotten three separate emails from US-Cert about Apple’s release of security updates for various operating systems, the Safari browser and QuickTime for Windows.  This does not happen very often, so it is important. Please take action today.

Read these updates and apply them to your machines as soon as possible.  They address several security issues which can lead to rogue applications being installed on your systems.  Links below to each of the update notifications and the page you can sign up for tips and alerts.

Apple Releases Security Updates for Safari 6.1.2 and Safari 7.0.2

Apple Releases Security Update for QuickTime 7.7.5
