Changes over at the professional networking site LinkedIn could broaden and deepen the connections real estate professionals already have. Within the LinkedIn platform there has been a program called Influencers that publishes pieces from thought leaders across different fields (notables such as Bill Gates and Richard Branson have published Influencer pieces). Until now the Influencers program was by invitation only, but LinkedIn has announced that they are opening up an application process to members who want to contribute to the higher level discussions in their respective fields.
Inman News has a good rundown on how real estate agents can use this to their advantage and expand their professional brand in a way that is separate from networks that are closely tied to socializing. Since LinkedIn is where business connections take place when agents publish their take on industry news it will be read by others in that same industry—not just people in their own network.
If you become an Influencer on LinkedIn, please let us know in the comments so we can follow along.
