I happen to work for the industry’s most web-connected CEO. As a result, I need to be open to the daily flow new ideas and concepts that David finds on the web. Many times, he sources out trends or sites of major interest.
For example, the other day he asked what I thought of a website called Houzz. I had no idea what a Houzz was, or what to do with it for that matter. But this morning, David sent a link to the site and I viewed it along with my daily “Morning Joe” ritual during breakfast.
What I found was an amazing and stunning collection of home design photos that are submitted by the site’s community along with posts about home design ideas, questions and suggestions. You can filer by home style and the “space” of interest (e.g. kitchen, bathroom, etc.) as well as by Metro areas. Thinking of a wine cellar? No problem, the site has a huge collection of design ideas. And naturally, Houzz has an iPhone app as well.
According to the site: “Houzz is a leading destination site for home design enthusiasts– professionals and homeowners. The Houzz site and mobile apps feature over 200,000 high quality interior and exterior photos, thousands of highly-engaging articles written by design experts, product recommendations and social tools to manage the remodeling and decorating process.”
I have always admired the fact that smart real estate pros have a genius in helping their customers imagine the “state of the possible” when it comes to the opportunities created by homeownership.
Houzz is a perfect tool for agents and brokers to use with their customers and prospects. They also offer a free Widget that you can post to your website.
So we’re sharing this with you as a potential business development tool that we hope you will find of value to help generate more sales in 2012 and keep your current customers engaged and connected to your site. Thanks to David Charron for passing this along to us.
