REALTOR® Ortrud “Trudy” Harsh, a broker-associate at Long & Foster Real Estate Inc., in Fairfax, Va., is one of five winners chosen by the National Association of REALTORS® as a REALTOR® Magazine’s 2012 Good Neighbor Award winner. Harsh was selected for establishing The Brain Foundation, an organization that helps reduce homelessness by providing supportive housing for mentally ill adults.
“The Good Neighbor Awards demonstrates how REALTORS® are integral to a successful community,” said NAR President Moe Veissi, broker-owner of Veissi & Associates Inc., in Miami. “This year’s winners are true examples of how REALTORS® dedicate their time and resources to improving the lives of those in need. Trudy’s devotion to creating safe and supportive homes for those suffering mental illness epitomizes what a Good Neighbor Award winner and REALTOR® stand for.”
Author’s Note: I had the pleasure of speaking with Trudy directly last week. When asked for a quote, she told me, “I could not have done this without my wonderful Professional Board that stepped up to help.” Such generous words from a true Good Neighbor. We at MRIS want to congratulate Trudy for receiving this well-deserved honor.
