Game Changer to Lead Virginia Realtors

September 5, 2013  |  by David Charron

The Virginia Association of Realtors made its long awaited decision this week on the new CEO. Click here to read the VARbuzz article about their selection, Terrie Suit.

Terrie Suit brings an enormously varied background and will be an excellent leader for Realtors in Virginia, the region and the nation. While she has significant experience in real estate and lending, her CV also includes substantial experience in the legislative and political arenas. Her continued community involvement and activism only reinforces the quality of this decision.

I am guessing she was not on the radar of the selection committee early in the process which speaks to the need to take time to find the right person. Kudos to Mary Dykstra, Brad Boland and the rest of the selection committee (headed by former MRIS chair Tom Stevens) on looking beyond the obvious. Very cool.

Terrie has an amazing CV, so I'm not sure why the writer thinks the selection committee "looked beyond the obvious." In any case, she's an excellent choice, and NVAR is lucky to have someone with her experience to lead it. Congratulations, Terrie!

  3. Chris Todd says:

Congratulations to Terrie and the extraordinary work done by the Executive Search Committee under the leadership of Tom Stevens!
