Must Read! The smart folks at NAR have developed a research alliance with Google to add some very powerful insight into the NAR 2012 Home Buyer and Seller Profile. The Digital House Hunt: Consumer and Market Trends in Real Estate is a joint report from NAR and Google that examines the connection between consumer Internet use and online home search and shopping patterns. Get the study presentation here.
One of the most interesting takeaways for me, which is also confirmed by a recent Harvard Business Review study, is that over 65% of consumers search from mobile devices AT HOME and not “on the road” as was widely assumed. Our new MRIShomes.com mobile app, for instance, now has nearly 15,000 downloads (from our September launch) and putting the power of GPS search with professional access to the MRIS property records makes more sense than ever before.
Google focuses on what they call ZMOT (zero moment of truth) where the consumer leverages the power of the internet to make instant and important decisions. Here’s a summary from the study and we highly recommend you take some time to go through the slides. Props to our friends at NAR and Google for the fine work here. We think you’ll find this of great value to your business.
