Media Connect’s launch in 2011 was just the beginning to major Keystone renovations. On our roadmap, we plan on addressing major issues that will help improve your workflow and significantly decrease the amount of time it takes to enter listings.
Keystone is a major focus for 2012 and as we work towards a better solution, we want to thank you for all the input you’ve given us. From suggestions given to a Support Center representative to MRISblog.com feedback surveys, we are listening. Get excited for 2012 – its going to be a very positive year for change!
Phase I of updating Keystone is fully underway. After receiving positive feedback from Beta testers last week, we feel confident we are on the right track. The first major change coming will be the Keystone homepage. In just a few clicks, you will be able to make price adjustments on the fly, schedule when your listing change will hit the MLS, change photos and so much more. Though we can’t show you what we are working on just yet, keep your eyes and ears open for more Keystone teasers in the future.
If you are interested in participating as a Keystone Beta tester, send an email to marketing@mris.net.

Love the way you are always looking to improve the system.
One of the things that has come up is a potential policy that users who enter “No Photo Per Lister” should have to upload a PDF copy of the Seller’s written and signed direction to not have photos uploaded. I think WAY too many people add that comment just to buy them time to get around to taking photos.
Also, since listings can only be “TEMPOFF” for 14 days (or 21), there should be an automated email on day 14 to the user telling them that they need to change the status.
Lastly (for today) how about the “Out Of Compliance” notices pop up when you login to KeyStone or Matrix and not allow you to go any future until you’ve corrected the issue that is out of compliance?
Thanks for always listening!
AMEN to the last remark. they only pop up when you log in through http://www.mris.com. Most agents log in directly through matrix.mris.com or keystone.mris.com instead, and never see a compliance warning.
get rid of the ADC map coordinates. not sure half of our buyers know what an ADC map is.
Totally disagree with getting rid of the ADC map coordinates.
Not everyone has a GPS and even if they do, GPS does not get you to lots of places in Southern Maryland, why I do not know.
All areas of MRIS are not like others, and all human beings are not like others. Plus, some directions as well as some GPS just are not correct, and it is always nice when the information is incorrect, to be able to look at an ADC map book and confirm or find ones way to the property.
Remember, just like electricity, satellites are getting old, and they do not know what they are going to do about it; money is tight. Enough, thanks for listening.
While GPS is the way to go, there are times that I pull out my trusty map. I want the ADC coordinates on
the MLS!
Karen, Matt and The Murray Team, thanks for the feedback and please keep those comments coming. I just reviewed the focus group notes and some excellent feedback was obtained and, as noted above, we've already assimilated that into the product design. John
I love the idea of an "Out of Compliance" notice poping up as soon as you log onto Keystone or Matrix & not allowing you to continue until you have corrected the issues. But I totally disagree with having to "prove" to anyone that the Seller doesn't want pictures of their property on MRIS. In this computer age & the fact that it clearly would not be working in our clients best interest to not put pictures up as soon as possible that is just crossing the line.
Looking forward to the changes to come!
OMG…..Yes please get rid of the ABC map coordinates! I think I recycled all maps about 7 years ago!
I agree with all the comments about the map coordinates. We are in an age of GPS.
Again, lucky you that you live in an area of GPS, but Southern Maryland is very rural, as well as growing and GPS does not work in lots repeat lots of places. I have even had grand Lexus driving people have their GPS send them in the wrong direction.
How about a link to mapquest instead of having to enter ADC map coordinates?
Make it possible so that if one member of a team starts entering a listing, the other members of the team will have access to it in 'workstation" before it is activated.
I think that EVERY TIME I have to enter a listing. SO ANNOYING that a "Keystone Teams" feature doesn't exist. I was hopeful that it would carry over from Matrix, but no.
Hi Carmen, Keystone team functionality is most definitely being addresses this year. We've heard this request for some time and are excited to be implementing it in the coming months. Stay tuned for more information to come!
Please allow disclosures and other documents to be uploaded before going live as you have done with Media Connect. Ditto Open House info. Need to be able to do as much up-front as possible before going live so I am not sitting there another hour thereafter inputting more stuff.
Some maps on built in GPS systems are not current, especially with new developments, the ADC map coordinates help when the GPS may not have a new road.
I would also love to see more space for remarks and for MRIS, more reports and screen displays that show the short sale and foreclosure field, some displays and reports are missing this information.
Can the coordinates be entered into the directions field–or perhaps, could agents ENTER DIRECTIONS? It seems silly to have a map field (particularly since when maps were used, GCAAR used Thomas maps, not ADC) as a REQUIRED field. Most agents get around that requirement by entering 0000, which I can't imagine solves Gerry Ross and A Barry's problems.

Will the "Listing Search Results" page provide the most recent listings first? As of now it shows the oldest listings until I click on "List Date" to reverse the order. Also, it would be nice if when we log in to Keystone our listings auto-populate instead of having to search for them. Thank you for such a great MLS!
Hi Heather. You will not need to search for your listing. At log in we will display your New (yet to be submitted) listings, your Active, and your Pending listings. We will give you the ability to customize the statuses that are displayed at log in, in case you want to include your Temp Off, or even Sold listings. You can search, if you want a specific listing that isn't included automatically at log in. You can also set the default sort, but maybe not with this first phase, still cloudy on that detail.
I for one still put the ADC coordinates in the system because I agree, not every one has GPS (I do, but other's may not) – if we are truly working in the best interest of our listing client, we should do everything possible to make it easy for someone to find this home, including agents. ADC books are sold at every 7-11 and bookstore in the area – and they are cheap. GPS or not, maps still can provide valuable information for buyers and agents who want to see the "lay of the land" – I cannot imagine anyone going out in their car with buyers and no map book – yes, mine stays between the seat and the console 99.9% of the time but when I need it, it's there. Haven't updated since 2010 but it is nice to have, GPS or not.
While you are at it MRIS, could you try to compel agents who apparently "don't have time" to measure their listings and put room dimensions in? AND, schools would be nice – since many people and agents search by school district and about 80% of the listings today say "Call School Board" (Really?? are you kidding me? It's all on line and just two to three mouse clicks away – I get mine in seconds! Can you say "lazy"? Seriously, if I want to find a home in a certain school district, searching are missing your listing when I type in a certain high school – we won't ever see it. Is that smart? Call or go to the on line site for your school board and CONFIRM the correct district and if you are smart, keep a copy in your files for CYA.
Over and out. Thanks for listening!
Hi Bob. Definitely not in the first phase of this project BUT we will make entering the school even easier. Schools are searched for WAY to often not to have accurate information in those fields. Buyers never see the perfect listing, even though it meets all of their needs, because the schools weren’t entered.
A couple of things..re being required to enter them, we are warned repeatedly that the school web sitel is not official. I usually do not enter them because I want to client to get involved and to take the responsibility of making sure it is the right school for them. As for ADC maps, I would be in favor of leaving that in as a requirement if agents were made to do it accurately. Very few agents do it and of those that do many of them just throw in some numbers that may or may not be correct.
Suggest using GPS if you can – but my almost new Magellan with lifetime map update is often wrong. Google Maps seems to be the most current in stead of Mapquest.
