Monday Mobile Tip: Answer On The Fly Questions From Your Clients In Real Time

October 8, 2012  |  by Kerry

Have you seen the Professional Information in the new MRIS Homes™ mobile app? If not, just touch the MRIS Login option on the main menu and log in with your MRIS ID and password (not PIN).

The Realtor Quick View shows you important information such as Days on Market and Days on Market Property, Property Status History, Listing Price History, Property Sale History, Taxes, and Listing agent name and contact information.

The Realtor Detail View contains more MRIS customer-only information, such as compensation, Agent Remarks and Showing Instructions.

Now, when you are in the field showing listings and your clients ask “What about that house across the street? It didn’t come up on our search.” You can use the MRIS Homes app and view the consumer facing IDX information, and if your clients want more information, you can log in and view the Professional Information – talk about Real Estate in Real Time™!

Once you log in with your MRIS ID and password, you will always see the Professional Information heading when you view listing details. If you are not logged in at the time, just touch the Professional Information heading and you will be prompted to log in. The MRIS Login has a 30 minute idle timeout for security.

Take this app-ortunity to share your thoughts with us. Have you used the app with your clients out in the field?

Started to download this app, but after reading the (very negative) reviews by MRIS users I decided not to, at least not until MRIS comes up with a minimally functional product. If the problems mentioned by users are as extensive as suggested by the reviews, what's the point of downloading something that is much more frustrating than it is usable. And requires you to constantly (re) log-in and sends you to the internet for info on top of it all !! Why bother.

The android app is not too bad, except for constantly needing to login. The IPad app is completely worthless. The map does not open correctly and the app is not usable at all

  3. Hi,
I think there is some confusion about how the mobile app works. We’ve received many positive reviews from MRIS subscribers about it. Once you log in from the main menu, you will always see the Professional Information options when looking at listing details.

In order to protect the MRIS subscriber only information, you are required to log in with your MRIS ID and password. The login has a 30 minute idle time out, so if you are not currently logged in, you will need to log in to see the Professional Info. If the app does require you to log in more than that, please let me know and I’ll gladly look into this issue. We definitely want the app to be helpful and easy to use! You can contact me directly at kerry.rice@mris.net.

The point of this blog post was to let MRIS subscribers know that they can view subscriber only information within the app, they don’t have to use Matrix Mobile unless they want to access their Matrix contacts. I think the misunderstanding that the app “sends you to the web” for the MRIS subscriber only info came from the fact that there is a link to Matrix Mobile in the app’s main menu. That link is called Matrix Contacts, and it’s there simply to allow MRIS subscribers to easily access their Matrix Contacts. Currently, it is not possible to import your Matrix Contacts to the app, but it’s something we are looking at for a future release. We are considering removing the Matrix Contacts link from the main menu, since that seems to cause people to think that they need to use Matrix Mobile to view subscriber-only info – what are your thoughts?

I am also interested to get more details on the issues mentioned with the iPad app. They sound like the problems that occurred when the new version of iOS 6 was made available. If you download the most recent update to the iPad app, that should resolve those issues. If it doesn’t, please let me know.

Thanks for your feedback! It definitely helps us to know where the points of frustration are, and I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on removing the Matrix Contacts link from the main menu, as well as other changes that would improve the app.
