The Early Agent Gets the Client

June 28, 2010  |  by Cassie

As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm and in real estate this couldn’t be more accurate. In this business, if you snooze you lose. If a real estate professional is not responding to you in a timely fashion, as they say, there are plenty of fish in the sea! So enough with sayings already, on to the action items.

1)      Return all emails inquiries within 2-4 hours to increase your chances of securing a client. N.A.R. said the average real estate professional’s response time to an email is 3 days and think about how you would feel if it took someone 3 days to get  back to you? On to bigger and better!

2)      Don’t use an automated and/or canned response to the inquiry. Make it personal to establish a connection to the person. If they provided a phone number then definitely follow up your email with a phone call .

3)      You MUST be connected so people can get an immediate response. Technology has made us a 24/7 society! With blackberries and other devices keeping us connected, people can do business from anywhere and they expect the same from a real estate professional.

Check out realPing, push technology to help you win the responsive race.

After following up quickly and making contact, don’t just forget about the lead. Or on the other hand, don’t start harassing them and making them wish they hadn’t even sent an inquiry to you. Follow back up  a few days later to see if there is anything else you can assist them with and make sure to send them your monthly newsletters. Everyone loves quick responses and follow up!  At the end of the day, it may be just the thing you need to catch the worm early.
