Utilizing Facebook Groups

February 21, 2013  |  by Jess

When trying to decide what products to buy to improve your business, have you tried searching social media? Sometimes searching Facebook for relevant information can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack, but there’s a new site that helps eliminate the chatter.

Curaytor.com is a website that searches conversations in three large, well-moderated industry Facebook groups: Agent Support (Tech Support Group for Real Estate agents), What Should I Spend My Money On (a group that focuses on experiences with technologies and vendors) and Raise the Bar (a group focused on standards). Each of these groups has a set of guidelines designed to prevent inflammatory, irrelevant, or obviously self-promoting comments to enhance the quality of content and manage a very large community of members (according to Curaytor, these groups have about 12,000 members between them).

These Facebook groups are open to the public to join, and non-members are able to search and view discussions, but you will need to join the groups to participate in the discussions.

If you’re interested, check out Curaytor.com, type in a search term and see what comes up.
