A website does not equal leads

There is no denying that consumers (including real estate consumers) are using the web to find professionals to work with and products to buy (including homes).   We’ve all heard the statistics, the web is where you need to be to connect with your customers.  But, will a website magically grow your business?  No.  Will a Facebook page double your leads?  No.  Will a Twitter handle take your business to the next level?  Definitely not.  Oh, if only it were that easy!  Just simply putting your brand out there on the web, does not equate to revenue growth.

So how do you take advantage of the web and find success?  First, start out by answering this question: What do I want the web to do for me?  Just like each one of your businesses is a unique and beautiful snowflake, so should your web strategy be.  For example, if you business is built on referrals, don’t worry if you are not an SEO expert, just make sure that your website properly communicates your market differentiation and has a professional look and feel that builds consumer confidence.  Instead of spending hours a day trying to conquer Google’s algorithms and gain page rank, work your Facebook network and make your brand talkable.
